This is a permanent position from 1-5 p.m. Mon-Thurs. Some weekend work will also be required. Dementia care experience and/or involvement in running an activity-based programme is preferred.

We are looking for caregivers who are passionate about working in this way. You will be working with vulnerable elderly people, many of whom have advanced dementia. This is rewarding and challenging work requiring the ability to work as a team, assess frequent changes in mood and cognitive functioning, and successfully manage behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
We are seeking some or all of the following experience/qualifications, and/or nursing experience, for this interesting and demanding role:
• Experience in dementia care
• A current first aid certificate
• Unit Standards in dementia care
• Training in the Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia
• A nursing qualification, or nursing experince
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
A variety of shifts is available, including night shifts. Weekend work will be required.
